| ||General comments:||My van was excellent on gas mileage, over 300 miles to the tank, which is much better than some of the past vehicles I have owned. It was great for hauling the kids around and loading up bigger things that most vehicles couldnt' haul. And it was pretty reliable, at least for awhile, till the transmission started slipping. It wouldn't come out of first gear till I pulled the van over and shut the engine off, turned it back on, and it came out of it's problem, and drove just fine. That ended up doing that for about 2 months, then one day, I couldn't even drive it down the road without it trying to buck as if i were riding a wild horse in a rodeo! The transmission was shot, and i was lost for words. I loved that van, although it did have over 200,000 miles to it. But I do know that Dodge Caravans are notorious for transmission problems. It leaked oil as well, constantly. Now I am the proud owner of another Dodge Caravan, but this time I bought a 93'. Thus far no problems with the transmission... but ask me about it within a year!|
