| ||General comments:||I purchased the top of the line ES model with the quad seats and rear air. I van instantly started to have a lifter tick that the dealer said was normal and should be ignored. The van did fine untill I took it to Topeka, Ks. from Des Moine, Ia and back. After that trip the would shake when you would accelerate. It was in the shop for a week and had to have new ball joint, tie-rod ends and cv shafts. One month to the day of getting it out of the shop, the cv shaft on the driver side exploded in heavy traffic. It went back into the shop to be replaced. The second on lasted only one week before exploding in a rain storm in traffic. This time the dealer replaced the cv shaft and all of the motor mounts stating that that was the reson for the cv failure. The van didn't stear right after that and it wore out new tire in about a month. The dealer said that everything was fine. One month after the third replacement of the cv's, the driver shaft exploded again. It pulled out of the transmisson and slammed against the tranny knocking a hole in the tranny. The dealer would replace the cvshaft under warrantly but refused to touch the tranny that the shaft damaged. I contacted Dodge and was basically told that I wa sout of luck. I ended up junking the van and am thinking of suing the dealer to get all of my money back. The van had 35,000 miles when it was junked and 30,000 miles when purchased.|
I purchased a 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis LS and just love it. No major problems at all. Please see my review on that car.
