Dodge Caravan
| | Model of the car: | Dodge Caravan | | | General comments: | I definately would NOT recommend any Dodge Minivan product if this is any indication of the rest of their line. As I said, Honda is in my future. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Where do I begin... First and foremost, the vehicle has just crossed 83,000 miles and I bet you'll never guess, THE TRANSMISSION IS DYING!!! I can get in and put it in reverse with no effect sometimes, or it takes a few seconds to fall abruptly into gear. Next, driving will get you 1st and maybe 2nd gear, but 3rd is only acheived by dropping the vehicle into neutral, taking my foot off of the gas and shifting back into drive. Even then when I get back to giving it some gas it will crank back down into 2nd. By the way I have the 3.0 V6 with 3 spd auto tranny. After all of the hype I've seen here for Honda, I think that will be my next purchase. I sympathise with all of you having the same transmission problems, mine was quoted at $1300 to repair. | | | Previous car: | This was my first minivan. I left a 4 cyl 1991 Mustang with 238,000 miles on it (in great condition except for it's age) for this hunk o' junk. |
