Dodge Caravan SE
| | Model of the car: | Dodge Caravan SE | | | General comments: | I would not reccomend a Caravan to anyone until Daimler-Chrysler fixes the problems with the transmission. I purchased my Caravan in September of 1998 used. It had 49,000 miles. 2 months later the transmission died while I was on the freeway. It cost me $1,700.00 to fix. In September of 1999 the transmission died again. It cost me $1,400.00 to fix. Three days ago (11-30-00) It died again. The same exact problem as last year. I have paid $2,100.00 for a complete rebuilt transmission. It supposably has a 3 year or 36,000 mile warranty. All my dealings with Chrysler were terrible. Since it was not under warranty I was told I would have to pay for repairs. I am in the process of suing Chrysler in Superior Court for all repairs and Kelley Blue Book value as advised from an attorney I retained. I will keep eveyone appraised of my situation. Based on complaints made by other owners to NHTSA and webpages like this I think I have a good case. I will see. The computer makes you choose atleast one star for Value and Overall ratings. I DO NOT give them any... | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | TRANSMISSION - TRANSMISSION - TRANSMISSION I have had no other problems except that. | | | Previous car: | None. I used to own a Jeep Chereoke and Pontiac Sunbird. Had almost 200,000 miles on both. No problems....should have kept them. |
