Dodge Caravan
| | Model of the car: | Dodge Caravan | | | General comments: | Great for the family, but terrible on the wallet and terrible reliability. OK dealer service, terrible service from Daimler-Chrysler. We're the orginal owners, with 95,000 miles--my mistake was to keep the van past 50,000 miles.
The front axle just snapped and took out the leaking transmission, which we had been advised was not likely to make it to 100K miles, anyway. Fortunately, my wife was simply speeding up from a stop light when it happened.
We had to replace the A | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Clearly not designed to get beyond 100,000 miles without many and significant repairs. And repairs may not necessarily make the van reliable. Compares to my Dad's two Nissan Sentras, each of which had over 200,000 miles without similar issues. | | | Previous car: | Worse than my Ford Taurus, which held the previous low standard.
My other cars have been Honda's, Toyotas, GM. |
