Dodge Caravan
| | Model of the car: | Dodge Caravan | | | General comments: | I have had this van for nearly 3 years, and I have had very few problems. Everyone says transmissions are so bad, but I have never had any problems with the 2 caravans I have had. This caravan now has 80,000 miles on it and nothing major yet. I have had 2 recalls which were discovered when the problem arose. I agree with others about the wipers turning on for no reason, which is irritating since a wiper on dry dirty glass scratches the glass. The only thing I have replaced is the waterpump in the almost 3 years of ownership. I am very satisfied with my Caravan. I must say that my sister has a 1990 Dodge Caravan with over 250,0000 miles on it, and it has NEVER had the Trasmission worked on except for routine maintainence, the key to a long lasting transmission. I traded off my '91 caravan, with 140,000 miles on it, and never had that trasmission worked on either. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | The only complaint I would have about my Caravan, is the cost of replacing the windshield, you would need to keep full coverage on it just for that reason. The windshield is $1800.00. The fact that the van's design doesn't change from year to year, no incentives to trade in and get newer, when all you get is less miles. | | | Previous car: | 1991 Dodge Caravan |
