Dodge Grand Caravan
| | Model of the car: | Dodge Grand Caravan | | | General comments: | This is the most comfortable, smoothest driving piece of junk I've ever owned. In fact, it's the first car (out of about 15) that I wish I'd never purchased. Reliability just drops off the bottom of the graph by comparison with my previous Fords, GMs, Japanese cars, and even older Chrysler cars. Chrysler is proud of their heritage, but that's all they have to be proud of. The gap between their glory years and the return of quality just broadens and broadens. THIS IS MY SUPPOSITION: CHRYSLER SPENDS FAR MORE ON LATEST DESIGN AND SLICK MARKETING THAN THEY DO QUALITY, AND THAT'S THE ONLY THING THAT KEEPS THEM GOING! And their dealers and service departments take a shoulder-shrug attitude about it all. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | Transmission is has chronic problems. Replaced at 67K, and now bad again at 86K miles. Belt tensioner broke, radiator started leaking at the bottom seam, and other multiple and sundrie problems with electronically controled parts. Interior trim and straps pop loose. | | | Previous car: | This is our first mini-van. |
