| ||General comments:||If you put low miles on your vehicle, this would probably be an ok buy. My experience with Chrysler tells me that after you have over 50k-60k miles on it, your repair costs will be far beyond routine maintenance. Chrysler says they have fixed their minivan transmission problems. A cursory glance at all the web sites complaining about these problems would indicate that this is not so. I don't have the statistics, but I believe that premature failure of the drive train is more likely in these minivans than with other makes.|
| ||What things have gone wrong with the car:||Transmission just went out at 72,000 miles, despite proper maintenance an easy driving style. Engine seals had to be replaced at 60,000 miles. Belt tensioner needs to be replaced every time serpentine belt is replaced. These all seem to be common Chrysler problems. I notice the people who hav reviewed Caravans and like them seem to all be recent owners. My advice is to sell your Caravan before it has 50,000 miles on it.|
| ||Previous car:||1992 Plymouth Acclaim. Same seal and belt problems, but transmission held up for 142,000 miles.|
