| | Model of the car: | Dodge Caravan | | | General comments: | Overall, pleased with van. Bought van new in '99 and so far had a faulty battery and oil pressure sensor. I only use 100% synthetic oil in the van since new. Want more power? Put in a K&N filter and upgrade the plugs to platinum. Upgraded wires will also help.
The transmission failure is caused by two factors. The first being that people have a tendancy to not completly have the vehicle stop before putting it into drive from reverse. The other being that many people do not perform the maintanence on the transmission when it says in the manual. ??? don't blame the tranny when you did not maintain it.
Bottom line is that EVERY car on the road has issues (does Honda and Toyota have mechanics on salary at their dealerships?? Of course they do and they are not there to only do oil changes).
Generally you will get what you put into a vehicle out of it but of course there are exceptions to this. | | | What things have gone wrong with the car: | A little short on horsepower but cheap add ons can improve performance substantially. |
